Who we are

NUDFIW is your trade union, established as a legal entity under the Trade Union Act 1959. As a member, you belong to a caring fraternity of all manufacturing and companies and marketing committed to fight for better conditions and prospects for each member of the Union. NUDFIW is a non-profit organisation.

The main goal of NUDFIW, is to improve the working lives of its 1045 members above in soft drinks manufacturing and marketing companies of Peninsular Malaysia. It has a track record of serving, protecting and providing for its members within the industry for over 65 years. When you are facing a problem at your work place, as a member of NUDFIW, you are never alone. Every other NUDFIW member stands in solidarity with you and will fight for you.

This has been sixteen (16) companies which employees in the company made to the united members under the following names;

Objectives

1.The objects of the Union shall be;

To secure the complete organisation of all workers in factories manufacturing or bottling drinks, whose place of work is in the Federation of Malaya, and to promote the industrial, social and intellectual interests of its members.

To obtain and maintain for its members just and proper rates of remuneration, security of employment and reasonable hours and conditions of work and to provide advice and assistance accordingly.

To regulate relations between employer and employee, between member and member, and between members and other workers and to endeavour to adjust any difference between them by amicable and conciliatory means.

To further, financially or otherwise, the work or purpose of any lawful association or body having for its objects the promotion of the interests of labour, trade unions and trade unionists subject to the provisions of Section 50 of the Trade Union Act 1959.

To promote the material, social and educational welfare of the members in any lawful manner which a delegates conference or the Executive Council may deem expedient.

To provide, if decided upon by the Executive Council, legal assistance to members in connection with their employment.

To provide, if decided upon by the Executive Council, such benefits as victimisation pay and dispute pay.

To promote legislation affecting the interests of the members in particular or trade unionists in general.

Generally to do any of the things that a trade union is permitted to do by law.

To establish, if decided upon by a delegates conference a Benefit Fund and to draw up rules governing such fund. These rules shall not become operative until they are registered by the Registrar of Trade Unions.

To undertake, if decided upon by a delegates conference the editing, printing, publication and circulation of any journal notice and social media or other printed literature for the advancement of the objects of the Union or the promotion of the interests of its members.

2. These objects shall be promote in accordance with these Rules and the Trade Unions Act 1959.

Our Responsibilties

  • Organize and recruit employees in all soft drinks companies in Peninsular Malaysia as members of NUDIW.
  • Negotiate quality agreement to the members for the better benefits.
  • Help our members to understand and defend their rights and discipline at the workplace.
  • Constantly evolve in our knowledge and administration in order to effectively function as a trade union.
  • Improve the quality of their lives by regulating the relations between employers and our members and adjust any differences between them by amicable and conciliatory means and protect their health and safety at workplace.
  • All benefits only for NUDIW Union members only.
